Overview
This Operational Agreement and Policy (the policy) is a collection of policies and agreements that give Rhinebeck Equine (the "Site", "we", "us", or "our") the ability to take actions based on your interactions with us.
For purposes of this policy, "you" and "your" means you as the user of the services, whether you are a customer, website visitor, or another individual who has interacted with us.
When sections in this policy create overlapping permissions the set of permissions that is most broad in scope will be applied first. If any part of this policy is found to be unenforceable the rest of the policy will remain in force.
Please read this policy carefully. By using and/or accessing any of our services in any way you agree to be bound by the terms as described in this policy.
Section 1 - Performing Veterinary Services
I hereby authorize the doctors at Rhinebeck Equine to perform veterinary services on my horses. Payments are due when services are rendered. Interest of 1.5% per month will be charged on all overdue balances. I hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the City/Supreme Courts of Columbia County, New York, and agree that any dispute shall be venued in one of these courts. I further agree that in the event of breach, Rhinebeck Equine shall be entitled to recover the costs of collection, including reasonable attorney's fees. I am the owner of the described horse and have the authority to execute this consent. I hereby authorize Rhinebeck Equine, LLP to examine and if necessary, treat said horse according to the following term and conditions. Rhinebeck Equine, LLP and its officers, agents and employees will provide such veterinary medical care as they deem reasonable and appropriate under the circumstances.
Rhinebeck Equine, LLP and its officers, agents and employees will use reasonable care in the treatment of the above mention horse, but will not be liable for any loss or accident that may occur or any disease that may develop as a result of the care and treatment provided.
I hereby expressly acknowledge that risks, benefits and alternative forms of treatment have been explained to me, and thus I understand the explanation and consent to treatment. Should any additional treatments or diagnostics be required during the continued care of my horse, I understand that I will be given the opportunity to discuss and consent to these additional procedures. I understand that further or additional treatment may be required without an opportunity for discussion and consideration by me in the case of the development of any emergency during the continued care of my horse and I expressly consent to all such reasonable treatment as required. I realize and understand that results cannot be guaranteed.
Section 2 - Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time without notice to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
Section 3 - Deposits Fees and Payments
Payments are due when services are rendered. Interest of 1.5% per month will be charged on all overdue balances. I hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the City/Supreme Courts of Columbia County, New York, and agree that any dispute shall be venued in one of these courts. I further agree that in the event of breach, Rhinebeck Equine shall be entitled to recover the costs of collection, including reasonable attorney's fees.
I understand and agree that my card information will be saved by Rhinebeck Equine and will be charged for services rendered unless otherwise agreed in writing.
I understand and agree that my card may be charged at anytime and for any amount agreed to when services were discussed and/or rendered.
I understand and agree that my card may be charged for estimates, deposits, holding fees, general fees, and other miscellaneous amounts that may or may not be connected to a service rendered.
Section 4 - Treatment Deposits
I hereby authorize the doctors at Rhinebeck Equine to perform veterinary services on my horses. I agree to have my credit card charged for all services incurred at the hospital at the time of discharge or cessation of care unless I pay by check or cash at that time. I hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the City/Supreme Courts of Columbia County, New York and agree that any dispute shall be venued in one of these courts. I further agree that in the event of breach, Rhinebeck Equine shall be entitled to recover the costs of collection, including reasonable attorney's fees.
Section 5 - Hospital
Anyone admitting a horse to Rhinebeck Equine’s Hospital agrees:
I am the owner of the described horse being admitted to hospital and have the authority to execute this consent. I hereby authorize Rhinebeck Equine, LLP to examine and if necessary, treat said horse according to the following terms and conditions.
Rhinebeck Equine, LLP and its officers, agents, and employees will provide such veterinary medical care as they deem reasonable and appropriate under the circumstances. Rhinebeck Equine, LLP and its officers, agents, and employees will use reasonable care in the treatment of the above-mention horse, but will not be liable for any loss or accident that may occur or any disease that may develop as a result of the care and treatment provided.

I agree to pick up the horse when notified that it is ready for release. In the event that the horse is not picked up and if ten (10) days have expired since a registered letter was sent to the address given notifying me to call for the horse, the horse may be sold or otherwise disposed of humanely and any proceeds from a sale applied to the charges incurred in caring and treating the horse. Failure to remove the horse will not and does not relieve me from obligation for the costs of services rendered. In addition, I understand that in the event the horse dies I am still responsible for all charges incurred.
I, hereby grant Rhinebeck Equine permission to take photographs of myself and/or my horse, and to publish those photographs for any lawful purpose, including, but not limited to, their website, social media accounts, promotional and educational materials, either digital or in print, in perpetuity. I also grant permission to use my name and/or my pet’s name.

Section 6 - Hospital Visitation
Anyone visiting a horse in Rhinebeck Equine’s Hospital understands and agrees:
We want to provide the best possible care for your horse and for others in our hospital. The following visitation guidelines will help us provide the necessary care to all of our patients.
1. Clients may visit once a day, with the duration of the visit no more than 30 minutes.
2. Visiting hours are during our hospital’s normal business hours (8 AM – 5 PM, M-F, and 8 AM-12 PM, Saturdays.)
3. Clients are required to check in at the reception desk before visitation.
4. All visitors must be accompanied/observed by a representative of Rhinebeck Equine, LLP for the duration of their visit.
5. To maintain client/patient confidentiality, visitors are required to restrict their activities to their horse’s location in the hospital only.
6. To provide optimal care and service, changes in these policies may be made at the discretion of the veterinarian(s) or technical staff in attendance and clients are required to comply with their recommendations.
