Dr. Natalie Ries grew up in Ontario, Canada, and became interested in veterinary medicine after working for her local animal clinic and milking dairy cows after graduating high school. She attended the University of Guelph as an undergraduate and continued at the university to earn her veterinary degree from the Ontario Veterinary College.

Prior to applying to Rhinebeck Equine’s Internship program, Dr. Ries practiced for a year at a mixed-animal practice, where she worked on horses, beef and dairy cattle, and small animals. Now that she’s deepening her clinical experience with an internship, she is especially interested in equine reproduction and internal medicine.

In her spare time, Dr. Ries enjoys cycling, playing piano, and riding hunter-jumpers.
