Licensed Veterinary Technician

Rhinebeck Equine is hiring a full time Licensed Veterinary Technician. A flexible schedule is preferred and availability for some nights and weekends is required. We will also consider applicants from technicians who are enrolled in an accredited AVMA Veterinary Technician program or enrolled Veterinary students.

As an LVT/VT, you will be responsible for providing treatments, preparing and administering medications, performing physical exams, passing nasogastric tubes, placing catheters, running fluids and assisting with diagnostics to our hospitalized patients. You will also assist with surgery and nuclear scintigraphy. You will be responsible for recording treatments and observations in medical records and reporting any abnormalities to the intern veterinarian on the case. Finally, you will assist in the general care and cleaning of our equine patients and their surroundings.

Veterinary Assistant 

Rhinebeck Equine is expanding and we are hiring a full time Veterinary Assistant to work in our ambulatory department.  The ideal candidate is someone who's worked around horses for several years or an Equine Science graduate.  A flexible schedule is required.

As a vet assistant, your responsibilities include but are not limited to; restraining patients, preparing supplies needed for each call, helping to write farm sheets, restocking supplies in the truck, rotating inventory in the truck, assisting in taking radiographs, scrubbing for procedures, billing for farm visits, and driving the vet truck.

Excellent customer service skills, computer skills, and horse knowledge are vital to this role. Pharmacy Assistant

Rhinebeck Equine is looking for a full-time pharmacy assistant. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has good computer skills, values customer service, and is a team player. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of horses and veterinary or medical experience. The assistant will work with the pharmacy manager to manage inventory of our central pharmacy, ambulatory vehicles, and hospital as well as filling prescriptions for clients. 

There is some flexibility with hours, with a 40 hour work week anticipated. A generous benefits package is available. Must be able to lift 50 lb.

Our experienced ambulatory team provides comprehensive services to farms around the region. We are driven to further the knowledge of our clients and staff, be leaders in the equine veterinary community, and provide the most current, skilled veterinary care for our patients. Eleven staff veterinarians and five interns provide routine, emergency, and specialty coverage for a wide range of breeds and disciplines in the beautiful Hudson River Valley about 2 hours north of New York City.
